Hello! I'm Stacy, a web designer working and living downtown Toronto.
I love to build websites while being a part of a community of designers, coders and makers. I feel that a good user experience on the web is the key to a successful website.
What do I really love ?
Creating beautiful, accessible websites.
I joined a team of 13 volunteers who run Ignite Guelph, a semi-annual event.
My goal was to re-design the Ignite Guelph website to be more user friendly and promote the next big event. I used a stock theme and customized it by tweaking the CSS, highlighted the speakers, added a call to action to promote registrations with integrated e-commerce tools.
The President's Report is a yearly print publication at the University of Guelph. I took the printed version and converted it for the web, keeping in mind the visual hierarchy and original design elements so it would be a digital representation of the printed material.
Think, Build, Engage
Sometimes it's easier to kick start your brain by thinking out loud on paper. While collecting assets, I'll be able to understand the scope, demographic and style needed.
Even just a quick drawing of the prioritized architecture of the pages will help plan it all out.
